Welcome to our May DC BUZZ program-wide event!
Hosted By: DC Course Director for Directing, Tommy Dennis.
THURSDAY, May. 28th at 7:00 PM EST
In this session, veteran director and acting instructor Tommy Dennis bridges the gap between classical directing methodology and the emerging frontier of A.I.-driven performance. Drawing on 32 years of hands-on experience in both the classroom and on stage and screen, Tommy brings a uniquely authoritative lens to one of the most talked-about shifts in modern storytelling.
Students will explore how the core principles of directing ā intention, objective, relationship, and emotional truth ā translate into a new language for guiding A.I. characters. The lecture examines both conventional directing techniques (Stanislavski-based approaches, actioning, given circumstances) and emerging A.I.-specific methods for shaping performance, tone, and behavioral nuance.

Topics Covered:
- Classical Directing Techniques
- Directing A.I. Characters
- Emotional Truth in A.I. Performance
- Stanislavski Methods for Digital Actors
- The Future of Storytelling with A.I.
