DCBS Course Director for Project and Portfolio 2, Michael Hanly, will host a special guest: Filmmaker/Teacher William Kavan. So why does a filmmaker decide to add teaching to their resume? We’ll explore that idea with Mr. William Kavan and what he feels students should know as they enter the industry.

About Mr. William Kavan:

William Kavan has been an educator for over a decade, in film and media for almost 30 years, and an artist and storyteller his whole life. Their teaching philosophy is simple; you can only walk with someone on their journey if you meet them where they are. Education is the basis for truth and, in that truth, freedom. When we understand ourselves and the world around us, we can better serve our communities, families, and ourselves. Whether in a classroom or on a screen, creating story, educational, and branding experiences using visual storytelling and interactive kinesthetic learning techniques to drive educational value and awareness. What it means is simple, though. William creates content for and leads teams to connect people with information and a call to action to better their journey.
