Film & Digital Cinematography “Social Distancing” Short Film Contest

Dear Full Sail Students:

We hope you and your families are staying healthy and safe during these unprecedented times. As part of Full Sail’s commitment to its future Filmmakers, the Film and Digital Cinematography Bachelor programs will be hosting a “Social Distancing” short film contest. We will be providing cash prizes to the top three winners.

Please read the requirements below carefully. Submissions not meeting the following conditions will be automatically disqualified.

Contest Requirements:

  • All entries must be shot and edited on a smartphone or iPad. See links below on filming/editing on your smartphone/iPad.
  • All shorts must include a reference to the date of filming (newspaper, dialog stating the date, mention of Coronavirus, social distancing, etc.).
  • You may include your family and/or roommates but must follow all local and state social distancing guidelines.
  • All shorts must be family friendly. Any shorts containing inappropriate language or images will not be screened or accepted.
  • All shorts must open with a minimum 5 second film slate that includes your name, the title of the short, your Full Sail email address, and your degree program, Film or DCBS.
  • Shorts cannot be longer than 4 minutes or less than 60 seconds.
  • Short entries must be recorded between Saturday, April 11, 2020, and Sunday, April 19, 2020.
  • Festival registration ends April 19th at 11:59 P.M. EDT. Details for submission will be provided after registration.
  • The finished short film is due Thursday, April 30, by 11:59 P.M. EDT.
  • In submitting your short, you acknowledge the possibility of your work being shared by Full Sail University from various social media platforms.
  • Shorts will be judged by a team of industry professionals.
